Elementary School Curriculum

Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies

Our math curriculum is supported by the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Go Math! series, which provides interactive online resources to help students practice at home. Across all grade levels, we emphasize problem-solving and critical thinking skills to build a strong mathematical foundation.

Science and Social Studies are taught through integrated units of study, allowing students to make meaningful connections between new content and prior knowledge. Teachers design these units around essential questions and enduring understandings, fostering curiosity and deeper learning. Hands-on experiences, including collaborative projects, science lab explorations, and media services, enhance student engagement.

Integraded Literacy Program

At our Elementary School, we use an integrated literacy program as the foundation for all grade-level curricula. This program is built on the Comprehensive Early Literacy Learning (CELL/ExLL) framework, incorporating research-based reading and writing strategies that support students' literacy development.

For reading, students engage in Read-Alouds, Guided Reading, Interactive Reading, and Independent Reading. For writing, our approach includes Interactive Writing, Writer’s Workshop, and Independent Writing. Additionally, we use the 6+1 Traits of Writing model to help students understand the key elements of strong writing. Our classrooms foster a rich and engaging learning environment, where students read from well-stocked classroom libraries, relax on rugs while enjoying books, and discuss their favorite characters in book clubs. The ultimate goal of our literacy program is to develop independent readers and writers while cultivating a lifelong love for reading and writing.

A Well-Rounded Education

Our curriculum extends beyond core subjects to include weekly instruction in: Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Computer Science, Library Skills

Technology is seamlessly integrated into all areas of learning, engaging students and enhancing instruction.

Character Development and Classroom Environment

We are committed to nurturing students both academically and personally. Through our Character Education Program and Counseling Office, students participate in age-appropriate activities that instill lifelong values. Respect for oneself, others, and the school community is at the heart of our approach, creating a safe and structured learning environment.

Teachers reinforce effective classroom management strategies, establishing routines that foster positive behavior and a disciplined learning atmosphere.

Differentiated Instruction and Student Support

To meet the diverse needs of our students, we incorporate small group instruction into the daily schedule. Students are grouped based on their abilities and learning needs, allowing teachers to provide targeted support and monitor progress closely. We use differentiated instruction and individualized educational plans to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

Our Elementary School is a place where students are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow in a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Through our integrated curriculum and commitment to academic excellence, we prepare students for lifelong success.
