BENCALETH is a social service club composed of students in grades 10-12 who join in solidarity with the boys and girls of the BENCALETH children’s home. The young residents of this home suffer from muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, or mental retardation. The members of the BENCALETH Club provide basic supplies of food, medicine, cleaning materials and personal hygiene products to the residents. Escuelas Apoyando Escuelas is a club to help children from other schools with their education. The Club provides scholarships (based on merit and need), school materials, and uniforms required by the school they attend. We do activities with the children, whether we are going to visit them or have them come to us. In these activities usually one of the things mentioned above are giving and activities, such as games, are played with the kids. GVI is an award-winning social enterprise that runs high-impact volunteer and international education programs. GVI is guided by a unique commitment to its participants and to its partners. To the participant, it offers safe, responsible travel experiences, exceptional training and career development opportunities. In 1995 the founder was living in Malawi. There he was a proud owner of few run down huts. By living there he spent a lot of time in local villages seeing their culture and meeting new people. Inspired to help them, he began to think about how volunteers could really help address the problems they encountered on a day-to-day basis. He called his friend Ben who was carrying out marine research here in Honduras. They knew back from college were they both had great time volunteering together. Together they set out to build an organization that worked hand in hand with local communities to build sustainable environmental and humanitarian volunteer projects. The Knowledge Bowl Club is an incredible opportunity to enhance as well as demonstrate your knowledge. The range of the questions that are asked in the matches varies from Science, Art, History, Math and Literature. Throughout the year, the club meets once a week in preparation for the Knowledge Bowl competition, where teams play matches against opposing teams from other schools. Operation Smile International is a non-profit U.S.-based organization that serves to repair cleft lips, cleft palates, and other facial deformities in impoverished countries around the world. Supported primarily by donations and the work and sacrifice of volunteers from many countries, Operation Smile has made an immeasurable difference in the lives of many thousands of children and adults since its founding in 1982. The American School Operation Smile Club works in close support of the annual Operation Smile mission to Honduras. La Banda Classica is a band where we sing contemporary songs in English and Spanish. The band consists of singers, electric guitar, bass, drums, alto and tenor saxophone, trombone, trumpet, piano, etc. We are a united band that Share the love of music. The Gala Concert is one of our most important activities. Throughout the year we practice the music from the repertoire for the concert and we also organize the entire administrative part of the concert such as tickets, sponsors, advertising, etc. All profits from this concert go to the band so that we can purchase new instruments and have those instruments go directly to the band.

Club Canastas de Nena was created to provide support and assistance to families of newborns in our community, ensuring that each Low-income newborn starts life with the tools and Essential resources for a healthy and safe start. We work in fill some boxes/cribs with the basic needs for the newborn and the breast and donate them to certain hospitals and clinics. The Honor Choir at AST allows our students in Middle School and High School to deepen their discovery and honing of their voices through vocal ensemble and solo-based opportunities beyond the classroom. A cost-free organization that helps women with few resources get mammograms and tests done. Funhocam also supports them and helps them with their recovery. Their mission is to raise awareness about this horrible disease throughout the country.  1 out of 8 women get breast cancer in their lifetime. We need to raise awareness of the disease, because with early detection, there is a 98% chance of Survival. FUNHOCAM has donated over 21,000 mammograms to women in need, and we want to help that number increase. It is easy to save lives through this organization. Relevo por la Vida is a club committed to raise Cancer awareness.The club meets weekly to join forces with the AHLCC (Asociacion Hondureña de la Lucha contra el Cancer) and Relevo por la Vida to fight cancer, support cancer research, serve cancer patients, honor cancer survivors and raise awareness of cancer prevention. The club plans money-raising activities for the causes described above. The money raised from September to March is turned in to AHLCC after their big event: the Annual Relay for Life which takes place every year on the second weekend in March . Besides raising money, the club visits the cancer center a few times a year, especially during special occasions such as Día del Niño, Christmas and Mother’s Day. The AST Robotics Club is a competitive and collaborative program for students in grades 6–12 that combines engineering, coding, problem-solving, and teamwork to participate in robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League, AASCA Robotics, and World Robot Olympiad. TECHO is an organization of young volunteers and inhabitants of popular settlements in Latin America. Through joint action, TECHO works to overcome the situation of poverty in which millions of people live, mobilizing young volunteers to work with meaning. Mobilizing through joint action with the inhabitants of popular settlements and other actors of the society during Emergencies, developing housing solutions and strengthening communities.
