The Curriculum Office is dedicated to supporting academic excellence by ensuring a high-quality, student-centered educational program. We work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and school leaders to develop, implement, and continuously improve curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Our goal is to provide every student with meaningful learning experiences that foster critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong success.

At AST, our curriculum is grounded in the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy, fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and global-mindedness. Through a rigorous and student-centered learning experience, we empower students to become compassionate, lifelong learners prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world.​

Honduran Bachillerato
Diploma
Credited by the Honduras Ministry of Education and awarded to students who comply with additional credits and 160 hours of community service.

The High School Diploma
Credited by Cognia since 1962, our K-12 curriculum provides a higher standard and quality of education.
Cognia's research-based performance standards are created to ensure high-quality learning at all levels.

International Baccaluareate Diploma
Through the IB Diploma Programme, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service.
Academic Calendars
The school year consists of 182 days divided into 2 semesters. The first semester begins in August and the second semester in January. Grades are issued quarterly. The school day begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. Download our Calendars here.
