AST’s PHOTO COURIER has been a great success! If you signed up and are not receiving any pictures, please contact the Development Office. We have sent 6 mailings so far, including fabulous pictures from our Fall Festival 2008. This is a mailing sponsored by our school – we only use Kodak Gallery as a safe and effective mean to get the pictures to you. It would be the same as using Snapfish or any other service. We do ask you to sign in, so that I can personally have a record of who views the pictures – for safety reasons. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.
TELETON You can help with A LOT of HEART! Ficohsa’s “Gira de los Sueños” will be visiting our school on Tuesday November 25, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is our opportunity to join in and help a very important cause. Together with STUCO this office had the opportunity to visit the TELETON and celebrate Dia del Niño for their outpatients. We were amazed with their facilities, their service, cleanliness, and top personnel. This is definite proof that the money is put to use wisely. So, on Tuesday don’t forget to Donate to TELETON. Artificial Turf
The American School’s Board has selected the ARTIFICIAL TURF project as the major fundraising project for the school’s Development Office. It is a great challenge, but not an impossible one. The process includes the following steps:
- A series of meetings with members of the school’s Athletic Department, Physical Education Department, and Board Members to discuss and analyze the different reasons why “artificial turf” is important to use in our soccer field. (August 2007 – August 2008)
- Extensive research on the different providers of artificial turf in Honduras. (August 2008 – November 2008)
- A selection committee is brought together to negotiate with the different providers of Artificial Turf, in order to present their suggestion to the Board. (November 2008 – December 2008)
- Fundraising Committee created in order to promote sponsorships and donations for the school’s artificial turf project. (January 2009 – May 2009)
- Lanzamiento Fundraising Project - FAMILY DAY (March 7, 2009)
- Artificial Turf (January 2010 – May 2010)
